How can I tell if the hose is working?
Our designer provided the below response for you. This is how he tests them...
When I test the returned items I use a simple test to make sure that the Hose is going to work:Don't connect the Hose to power yet!1. Simulate the freezing cold weather by dipping the Thermocouple in an Ice Bucket.Thermocouple is an electrical switch controlled by the ambient temperature. In our case it is designed to turn on at around 33 degrees F.After a minute the Thermocouple will click and the resistance of the Heating Wire installed in the Jacket around the hose will drop down to about 136 Ohm. The resistance is measured between the Hot and Neutral pins of the Power plug.2. If you keep the Thermocouple in the Ice Bucket and connect the power plug to the 110VAC after 10-15 minutes you can feel how the Jacket is warming up. It may take up to 30 minutes to get to the maximum temperature - warm enough to keep the water safe from the freezing cold outside. -
